Should there be another check box option on the dependent care section as it states both spouses must have worked full time but there is no check box for that option.

It says both spouses must've worked full time OR be a full time student or disabled... but there is no box to check for works full time so when I click "none of the above" it says we don't qualify for dependent care.

Yes, there's no check box for works full time because the presence of a W-2 satisfies that requirement.

If both of you work and have W-2 forms, no further proof is needed. The check boxes are just there to show why you still qualify when one of you doesn't have any earnings.

If you both have a W-2 in the return and the program isn't giving you the credit, check to see if the ownership of the W-2 forms is right in the program.

Here's how to do that:

  1. Open you return.
  2. Select Federal, then Wages & Income.
  3. To the right of Job (W-2), select Edit/ Add.
  4. You should see both of your names and your W-2 forms listed below each.
  5. If one of the forms is listed on the other spouse, select Edit.
  6. Select Show employee info. You can correct that here.
