Should I still fill out the 1095-A even though I am not a recipient, just a covered individual?

I was under my parents' insurance, so I am listed on the 1095-A form but I did not pay the premiums. My parents received the credit for this in their tax returns, so it does not make sense that I would also receive credit for it.

You don't need to enter the Form 1095-A information if you didn't receive the form and your parents didn't allocate any of the insurance premiums to you when they completed their tax return. Even though you are covered on the policy, they would have an option to report the full premiums on their return. It sounds like they did that in which case you wouldn't need to enter anything regarding it on your tax return.

Should I still fill out the 1095-A even though I am not a recipient, just a covered individual?

Will I be rejected for not filing the 1095A form if my mother received it as the Recipient and I was listed in part II as the Covered Individual? Turbo Tax is asking if I received a 1095A - Yes or No - technically my mother received one for herself as the Recipient and the Covered Individual and she received another as the Recipient and me as the covered individual.  I have my own income and file my own taxes I am 20 years old but she claims me as I live with her. Should my answer then be No -  I did not receive a 1095A?

Thank you for any additional information.

Correct.  You would answer No, you did not receive a 1095-A.  You will not be rejected as your mother is claiming you as a dependent on your return so she is the one who will need to report it on her return.  You cannot claim it on yours as a dependent.

If she does not claim you, then you would need to enter it on your return.
