Question

Schedule E depreciation delay?

I notice for rental property depreciation looks consistent from 2024 to 2025 for one of the rental properties.  However, for the other rental property, 2025 decreased a lot from 2025 depreciation.  It says "depreciation and amortization will be ready by February, but liekly sooner"  We are updating this section for latest tax laws.  How long should I wait?  Will this likely change the 2025 depreciation on the strange decrease property?  I am getting the same message on the first property that has the stable year after year depreciation.  Just the second one looks funky.

Please use this link Sign up for email notification which will let you know when the depreciation/amortization will be ready to file with Schedule E. Anticipated update is February 11th.

@DianeW777 do you know if that’s the last update or a series of updates?

Updates are happening throughout the tax season for various reason including IRS requirements and changes. With tax law changes comes diligence on both sides for taxpayers.
