Entering the information for RRB-1099-R, Turbotax asks for the amount in Box 12-Medicare Premium Total. There is no Box 12 on either my RRB-1099-R or my RRB-1099. Moreover, RRB-1099 does have Box 11, which has an amount for Medicare Premium Total. But the program shouldn't be asking for that under RRB-1099-R because it is not included on that form.
Then, if I do include the Medicare Premium total and move on, TurboTax asks what method I used to caclulate the taxable amount of the annuity payment. I didn't. And, there is no information on the forms to fill in this information.
To get answers to these issues requires the $80 upgrade, according to my specialist on the telephone. I should have just done this on a paper form like I did before TurboTax came along.
