Roth IRA

I have a question as to whether or not I can contribute to my Roth IRA. I received a large payout from my job upon retirement. I started a Roth IRA with the left over funds. I've had the account for years. I have not added to it, because the money was sitting in an account years ago. I would like to send it to my Roth IRA. Can that be done? thanks.

You can only contribute to it if you have earned income in the year of your contribution
