It depends. The IRS requires the holder of an ITIN to enter the W-2 into the system using the Social Security Number that is found on the Form W-2, which will not be the ITIN. Double-check the W-2 entries to see if the SSN field is blank or does not match the taxpayer or spouse's information. Please see this screenshot on the W-2 screen to check this information:
