I have to take out RMD for 2022 based on 12-31-2021 Total Amount of Value.

Where does that go on the 2022 Tax Return?

    Hi Andrea!  

     

      Hope you are doing well today and thank you for your question.  The total RMD would be reported on Line 4a (IRA distributions) on Form 1040-SR and the taxable amount of the RMD would be reported on Line 4b (Taxable amount).
