For calendar year 2025 I sold items on eBay totaling $4,616.99. The sold items cost me $3,236.58 for a net gain of $1,380.41. I did not consider selling fees, taxes or shipping costs in any amounts as selling is only a hobby to clean out my garage. I have not yet received a 1099-K and not sure I will. As reportable income should I report $4,616.99 or $1,380.41. I have invoices showing the cost of all items sold. Also where is the amount reported as this is the first year I have ever sold anything on eBay? Thanks

You will pay self employment tax on your profit of about 15.3 percent as well as income tax.
