Report on 2018 Return Information

I'm using Turbotax Premier for 2019 Fed taxes. There seems to be an error on the form "Report 2018 Return Information" Line 3, it asks for "Tax (Form 1040 line 12a)" which is not correct. It should say 11a or 11 not 12a. If I enter 0 for 12a Child tax credit it then fills out line 6 "Tax Before Credits (Form 1040 line 11) with a 0 and I cannot enter the true fed tax. Line 7 seems also incorrect in that it is asking for "Tax after credits (Form 1040 line 14) which is also incorrect. Line 14 is other taxes. These errors need to be fixed by turbo tax.

The entry form does appear to be asking for the wrong input. Enter your amount from line 11 on your 2018 Form 1040 instead of line 12a.

I'm having the same problem. 'Line 12a' should be 'Line 11a' and 'Line 14', shouldn't it read 'Line 15' ?

There seems to be two incorrect line numbers referenced on this input screen. The first one asking for line 12a, should be line 11a. The second one asking for line 14, should be line 13.

Have been struggling from last 3+ hours on this, developed a headache.

Tax

(Form 1040 line 12a) -- which is child tax credit

TAx Before Credits

(Form 1040 line 11) -- it is read only field, cannot edit

Tax After Credits

(Form 1040 line 14) -- this does not have correct value in the last year's return

Looks like I cannot use turbotax this year.

I had the same problem as well. Yes - the "Tax" should be form 1040 LIne 11a, not 12a.

Also, the "Tax after credits" should be form 1040 Line 15, not 14. Please fix this both of these errors immediately - could cause serious issue for TurboTax users. Thanks.

I found out doing 2019 taxes .Turbo tax did not itemize my return when sent.I copied on my printer all pages and it shows I did . Iwondered why I got such a small Refund but thought wife taking some of her I R A funds out was heavley taxed .How do YOU fix this

Sorry no one can send you that. And you should remove the name & address from this public user forum. It is not safe.

Only you or he can get his return. That's common to end up with multiple accounts. First LOG OUT of whatever TurboTax account you're logged into right now. Then use this TurboTax account recovery website to get a list of user ID's for an email address. Run the tool against any email addresses you may have used

If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online.
