Rental Assistance received - Is this claimed anywhere but on the CRP for rental return?

If rental assistance was received in 2021, and is noted on the CRP form from landlord, does this only affect the rental reimbursement you receive back in August (if eligible based on income), or does it affect the Federal/State tax at all (as some form of income/income assistance)?

No these are not taxable on the federal level according to this IRS.gov publication. It is is not taxable in California either.
