Reminder: Your W-2 needs attention

I got an email with header " Reminder: Your W-2 needs attention" and then requesting I import my W2, is this legitimate? why do i the turbo tax program that i initially use not request this information back then?

Sounds like a marketing email. If you have more than one online account ---- which is very common-- then an old account might be triggering the marketing emails. If you know you prepared and filed a tax return that was accepted by the IRS you can disregard the marketing email.
