Reject Code IND-032-04 should we really enter $0 as AGI when that isn't accurate? Isn't that conveying a falsehood to the IRS?

One of the suggested solutions says to enter $0 as last year's AGI, as a workaround to solve the problem of returns being rejected. Has anyone done this successfully, without getting in trouble for saying that they made $0 last year?

My 2022 return was printed and mailed. When I entered the AGI from that year, it was rejected, even though I verified the amount from my copy of the return and also verified with the IRS transcript.  I don't know why I'm getting rejected with the IRS clearly has the information (in transcript) and the amount was verified in two different ways.

Does anyone have experience with this scenario?

You should enter 0. This information is used to confirm your identity for efile. If you mailed your return last year, there is no comparable AGI in the IRS system.

You are matching info with the IRS.

Did you believe that the IRS is omnipotent, omnibenevolent and omniscient ?

I’m in the same scenario. But I’m pretty sure my taxes were processed after Dec. 10, 2023 due to filing late but I have the same question.

If the return has not been processed yet then the AGI is still $0.  IRS will not allow the return to be processed with incorrect information, so no falsehood to the IRS.
