Refund status

The first question is easy. Go to www.irs.gov and click on where's my refund. It will tell you if it has been processed and when you can expect it to be deposited. 

The other one, you likely need to call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040. Mornings are usually better. Good luck

If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status for the 2022 retirm - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

For the status of the 2018 return you will need to contact the IRS -

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.

Press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
Then press 3 for all other inquiries
It should then transfer you to an agent.

The only way to find out the status of refunds or to request a tracking of refunds is to contact the issuing party. 

If this is for a federal refund then you would call 1-800-829-1040.

I would suggest calling first thing in morning and there will still probably be a wait time.

If this is related to a state refund then you would need to contact your state revenue cabinet.
