refund on an amended return

I completed my Federal tax return, it was sent and received by IRS. The document showed a $7000 Federal refund, which I have not yet received. After the original return was filed, I completed an amendment due to a late arriving Schedule K-1. The amendment showed a $0 Federal refund. Does that mean I will not receive the $7000 refund from the original return?

No, your original return and the amended return are two separate returns. The amended return only takes into account any changes from the original return, so if the Federal refund is $0 on the amended return that just means that you will not get any additional refund due to the amendment (and you don't owe anything either).

Your originally filed return should still be processed as it was filed.
