Is anyone else experiencing constant delays in the processing of their 2024 1040 and or 1040X ? My 1040 was accepted 1-29-25 & included my current personal pin number. On 3-4-25 I received Letter 5071C from the IRS requesting identity verification. I had to go into the local office to verify I was the one that efiled my own 1040. Then I was told they needed more time. TAS got involved. Then the IRS wanted letters from some of the casinos verifying the wins & fed withholding. On 3-27-25 I sent in the letters along with a 1040X amended because I'd made an error and missed one. TAS was helping at this time and told me to efile that 1040X AND mail it into IRS with copies of the letters. TAS then had to close the case file since there was a 1040X filed. The 1040X was accepted 4-1-25, finally. Then 4-21-25, the IRS sent Letter 4883C asking me to verify my identity AGAIN. I verified again. Then the IRS said they needed more time. So far it all sounds standard. However still, not all the casinos are listed on my IRS account online, under the Tax Information Filed. Today my IRS account is still missing one of the casino amounts (not the one that caused me to file the 1040X). IRS said I should call TAS and ask them to reopen the case. I did. TAS says they can't help anyone with a 1040X until JUNE and suggested I contact my Congressman for a 'Congressional Referral'. So I did. The Congressmans office responded to my email the next day. They said a liaison would help and I should give them all my information on my situation so far. I did. This office contacted me again on 4-30-25 stating the liaison had contacted IRS 4-29-25 and they'd be in touch to update me as the file moved forward. They wanted me to let them know if anything new happened. On 4-29-25 I received Letter 2645C stating the IRS needed "an additional 60 days to send me a complete response on what action they are taking on my account". Of course there's a little more to this entire situation than these basic steps, but then I'd b writing a short book. Just wondering if anyone else has been waiting this long ??
