Hello,
I am a mexican who moved to the US for work. I currently hold a TN Visa, have a SSN and started generating income in Aug 21.
My work visa was granted on June 24th and entered the US with it on June 29th.
I have my W2 and one 10-99MISC for a "holiday bonus" but want to know if i am eligible for the 1,400 tax credit?
Also, my 10-99 MISC I am not considering it as a "self employment" income, because it has the amount in box 3, is this correct?
This is my first time ever doing taxes in the US and i'm doing it with TurboTax Permier, I'm almost done but insecure to finish.
Can someone guide me please?
Thank you so much

Because you have your social security number, you are able to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit to get the $1400 stimulus payment.
You will want to enter your 1099-MISC as Miscellaneous Income since you are correct, it is not self- employment income. If you have questions during the entry, please post here again.
Mary thank you for your response! Perfect, so the 10-99 misc is correctly filed.
As for the $1,400 tax credit, just to be certain. I entered the country with my work visa on June 29th (before that I was in the country but not under the same visa, do this days count for the alien, non alien status?)
My SSN was assigned or officialized on a date after July 2nd.
I have been living in the US and going to Mex once a month to visit my fam. (I mention this as I've read about the substancial presence rule)
Sorry for all the questions, just a concerned tax payer trying to do things right!
Thanks again!
