It appears that many people, myself included, had a refund due after filing that was reduced by the amount received from the second RRC. I am 99% certain that I followed their online instructions correctly but ended up with the wrong amount on line 30 of the return (in my case $1,200 that was received before I filed for "married filing jointly" (no kids) adjusted gross income under $150,000.)
I just spent a considerable time meticulously going through the instructions and worksheet for box 30 on the IRS website, answering the questions exactly as I would have when I filed, and came up with the correct figure of $0.00. Admittedly they are pretty convoluted, but that is why we file through Turbo Tax so we don't HAVE to do that.
When I called Intuit, they admitted that they were receiving a LOT of calls on this issue, and directed me to line 30 on the 1040 form and asked what was on it - sure enough $1,200
I suspect that there was an error in the software that caused this anomaly, and Intuit is trying to cover this up as they "guarantee" that their figure is correct. Anyone else of like mind ?? Can we ALL be wrong??

there are a number of other posts related to submissions prior to Feb 12. When did you file?
yes, they guarantee their software, but look closely at the guarantee. They will pay the penalties and interest, but not the tax itself if their software has the incorrect result. So if your refund was to be more than $1200, there will be no penalties or interest in any event; the IRS will just reduce your refund by the errant $1200.

Filed Jan 27, "Accepted" Feb 11.
I just went back and reviewed the data in my file and it now corrected the error by asking a specific question about the total RRC amounts received. It did not do this at the time I filed. I received the 2nd one on Jan 15th., well before I filed, so I know I entered the right figures.
Your point is well taken regarding the guarantee however, but this leaves a nasty taste in my mouth.
Thank you for your response.
