Recently Divorced in late Oct 2024, separated Sept 2023. 50/50 custody of 2 children. Agreed to claim 1 each. Children lived in family home until divorce was finalized and 1 adult would go back and forth to apartment we split. Then I started renting a home 11/1 separately after divorce finalization. Do I qualify as HoH or just single?

If you are providing more than 50% of the support for your household and your child resides with you more than 50% of the year then you qualify as Head of Household.  If you provide less than 50% of the support or they reside with you less than 50% of the year then you qualify as single.

Here are the rules for Head of Household status.
