Received two W2's from same employer

Hi, I received two W2's from the same employer, they are labeled at the top as page 1 and page 2. None of them is a corrected one. W2 labeled as page 1 has all the typical info required but W2 labeled as page 2 has a few boxes blank and the only difference is on box  14, W2 labeled as page 1 has three amounts listed on this box for SDI, NY PFL and for TRANS, the other W2 only has one amount for SDI which is different from the other one, other than that everything is the same or blank.

So what do I do in this case?

Thanks.

In your situation, since the W-2 pages are clearly marked page 1 and page 2, and one of the pages only has Box 14 entries, then your employer might have not had the space to enter all of your deductions on page 1. However, since the SDI amount is different, I would call your employer to clarify.

In addition, a corrected W-2 does not necessarily have to say W-2C. It could also indicate it is corrected form with a box at the top marked corrected. This box does not appear on standard (original) W-2s.

If it is determined that it is not a corrected W-2 and just two pages of the same W-2, it is recommended that you enter your W-2 with your financial data and add the Box 14 entries in the same W-2 entry in your tax return.

To enter your W-2, please follow these steps in TurboTax:

  1. Open your tax return.
  2. Search for W-2 with the magnifying glass tool on the top of the page.
  3. Select the Jump to W-2 link at the top of the search results.
  4. Click on Add a W-2.
  5. Follow the on screen instructions adding both page 1 and page 2 Box 14 entries into this input.
