Hello. I recently received a 1099-NEC for the first time but I am a non-US resident living outside of US (Philippines). I've read I'm not supposed to receive this as I am an independent contractor living and rendering work outside of US.
I have sent W8-BEN to other companies I've worked with and have no problem but this certain person made a mistake and has been hard to reach. Is there a way for me to correct this by myself? I do not wish to owe IRS and sour my relations to US (specially if ever I want to visit US for conventions for my hobbies).
Thank you so much!
