I am a Turbo Tax Advantage member. I get Turbo Tax desktop for the Mac every year. In case something comes up, I keep my installs on my Mac. I have Turbo Tax apps from 2014 on this Mac, along with the tax file and PDFs. When I get a new Mac, I use migration assistant to move everything over. Recently, I got a new MacBook Pro M4.
So by chance today, I was checking on the installs of old Turbo Tax installs. And I find for everything prior to 2022 I get the 603 error that the number of activations has been used up! I guess this is because I had a main and backup computer with TT on it for multiple years.
How does Intuit expect people to go back to a prior year? It' laughable, as my downloads page has all my activation codes, but try to use them - right. Some subscription. I guess I can call to get it resolved if I get an IRS letter or something, but what a dumb implementation, not having a way to delete old activations or something.
Intuit, consider me one unhappy customer.

Even if you could install and keep the software, it is not supported after three years. If you reinstalled an old year, it would not have the proper updates to make it usable. All you need to keep is a pdf copy of the return.
