You will get prompted for payment after you have finished making your filing choices. This avoids occurring double charges. If you paid for Deluxe, then added more information that requires forms that are on Premier you would be charged fully for premier, but if you had already paid for Deluxe you're paying far more than you need. Also you may decide you don't need that edition. You may want to itemize, then find out that would give you less than a standard deduction. You wouldn't need the Deluxe you paid for if you haven't paid or filed you could clear and start over with federal free.
