We couldn't save this file because it is a "Read Only" or part of a Read Only file, such as a CD, Use Save As to rename or move it             Error 567812

This is a regular computer not a MAC.  This is my 10th year of Turbo Tax and the first time I have used a download and not a CD.  What a pain in the behind.  I have completed my taxes twice now and wasted hours of work.  What a bunch of crap.  No more Turbo Tax for me moving on to another venue now next year.

This error happens because the file is on a device that can only read (like a CD, USB, or cloud drive). It also happens because the device doesn't have the permissions to write to it.

    In the Online version

    1. Log into TurboTax
    2. Under Tax Tools
    3. Select Tools
    4. A menu will appear
    5. Select Save your 2025 return to your computer

This tip that you forwarded to me did not work. I am not on a Mac and this is my own PC which I have downloaded many years of TurboTax administrative files. My opinion, Turbo tax is way too interested in pushing their Online/AI powerd program and some details were left out on this latest version of Turbo for the 2025 year.  I did a work around and completed my taxes but will NOT be using Turbo Tax next year. There are many competing softwares now and what gave TurboTax it's edge WAS that they kept up with quality. Lets face it, most folks WANT their tax data to stay on THEIR PC not the cloud with the clouds new brother AI.
