Working out of state

Hi, I live in Illinois and I'm employed by a company that resides in Wisconsin. They told me they aren't able to withhold state taxes and that I'd need to save 10% of my income to pay them myself. Is this correct and if so how do I actually go about paying? Do I just file like I normally would at the beggining of the year?

Thanks.

First you should have filled in a W-220 so no WI taxes are withheld :

https://www.revenue.wi.gov/TaxForms2017through2019/w-220.pdf

Reciprocal state rules :  https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/states-reciprocal-agreements...

Next you need to send in  quarterly IL estimated payments :    https://www.officialpayments.com/pay-illinois-taxes.jsp

WI taxes aren't currently being withheld but I never filled out a W-220. Will I need to get in contact with the accounting department and get that filled out?

Thanks.

If they are not withholding WI taxes then you have no reason to fill in that form.  Just make the IL estimated payments.
