Why is extension site stating "Unfortunately the deadline for filing an extension has passed."

That message refers to 2018 tax returns.  The TurboTax Easy Extension will be available later in March.  You have until July 15th - 2020 to file your extension for 2019.  Check back later, or go to IRS.gov and print a form 4868, fill it out and mail it in.
