I have a pending transaction from 2023 and still haven’t received return do not understand why

Check the IRS 'Where's My Refund?' tool for the status of your 2023 return.  You may can contact them at 1-800-829-1040.  You may need to initiate a trace if it has been lost or delayed.

What is a "pending transaction", and where do you see that?
