We know that it can be frustrating to find out the IRS rejected your taxes. We're here to help you figure it out and be done for good.
1. Find out why the IRS rejected your taxes
The exact reason is in the email we sent you. Here are the most common ones:
IND-031-02: Taxpayer PIN
R0000-504-02: Dependent name and SSN
FW2-502: Employer and W-2 info
R0000-500-01: Taxpayer name and SSN
IND-181-01: Taxpayer identity protection PIN
R0000-507-01: Dependent claimed multiple times
2. Fix your taxes
If you notice your info is correct and there is nothing to change, we recommend that you print and mail your taxes. There is a data mismatch between you and the IRS. The only way to file your taxes is to mail them.
3. E-file your taxes again
Answer the questions through the end of TurboTax and continue until you submit them. We will email you to confirm that you e-filed your taxes. We'll send another email to tell you if the IRS accepted or rejected them.
4. If you're rejected again, mail them in
There are many reasons the IRS will reject your taxes multiple times. We strongly recommend you mail your taxes if you don't see any mistakes or e-filed multiple times.
