"Goodness" ...?????
Turbo tax should allow us to attach as a PDF then, just like other online preparation companies do. As far as being "prone to error" I'm an adult and will take my chances vs having to mail it in.
My spouse was able to use Taxslayer self employed & cld claim his time off work due to covid and it only cost abt $40.
We had success with this form on taxslayer. Since we don't have state taxes it only cost about $40 for self employed fed filing.
Efile ability is up to the IRS. If you don't want to mail your return (IRS processes paper returns much slower than web returns), and you want to claim this credit which can be worth thousands... you should switch. I've used TurboTax for over 10 years and I love how easy it is. They really dropped the ball by not bothering to create a fix for this super relevant form.
Had no trouble using Taxslayer for this form.
I unfortunately paid $190 for Turbo Tax to do my taxes but after I paid they said I couldn't a file because of form 7202.. so I pretty much just gave that money for no reason!! I ended up using H&R Block and got it done with absolutely no issues! I've been using TurboTax for about 10 years but now I'm staying with H&R Block and I highly recommend them!
I used H&R Block online and was able to get mine done with no issues concerning form 7202. If I was you I would go back and double check or triple check everything.
I used H&R Block online and was able to complete my return which included form 7202 with no issues. I was able to e-file it and everything.
You can do it online through H&R Block.
I can tell you for sure that H&R Block online can do it. After wasting money for TurboTax to do it I turned around and used H&R Block online and got it e-filed with no issues.
I believe I know the answer to your question. The reason for this is because tax preparers may have software like ProSeries that has the capability to upload PDF's to the tax returns. There are different levels when it comes to financial matters. Therefore, some people have different permissions. Some more and some less.
Yes! I started to file with Turbo Tax then paid $200 to have them e-filed only to get all the way to the end and it says this form can’t be e-filed?? I just took the $200 loss and filed with Taxslayer and had the same refund amount and was able to e-file form 7202 with no problem. Turbo Tax definitely lost quite a few customers this year. I’ve been telling everyone I can not to use them. Major FAIL TURBO TAX!
I did the same thing. Turbo Tax is losing a lot of business this year because I have been telling everyone everywhere I can to use H&R Block or TaxSlayer. I was able to e-file from home using tax slayer and able to use the 7202 form for $40. Never AGAIN! What a waste of $200. It’s a shame
I tried to do it with H&R Block, but they don't let you use your 2019 income instead of your 2020 income. Like many people, my wife's self employment income was greater in 2019, so using 2020 numbers instead would cost us a decent chunk of change. I guess it's time to look at TaxSlayer.
