TT 2022 mac update fails

On MPB M1Pro with Monterey 12.7.1. I tried to open my 18 Apr 2023 2022 taxes today and TT said a critical update was necessary - no bypass option. But the update never completes. Activity monitor shows no network activity and almost no CPU usage. HELP!

TT version info: 2022.r26.056
