Short term Disability
Can I go ahead and file my taxes without my W2 for my short term disability? it was only like $1200 total, for 8 weeks. Each payment showed on the stub the deductions for social security and medicare, etc. It was very little. I know I will need to amend at a later date, but I do not think it will even effect my refund.

No, you should not file your return until after you have received all the documents required for filing your return. While it is tempting to file because you have that stub, it often does not report all the information you need to file an accurate return.
Amending - while it is a useful tool - should be something you do only rarely.
