My wife and I file jointly. I receive social security retirement benefit. Due to my retirement, our 14-year-old dependent daughter receives a social security benefit. On the on the SSA-1099 form for her 1) her social security # is listed in box 2, 2) the total amount is about $7,300, 3) in box 7 it indicates that I receive it for her. Does she need to file for taxes? Or do we have to report the amount she receives as income on our tax return?

You do not enter your child"s SSA1099 on your own return, nor does she have to file a return with it. Someday if she has any other income from a first job, etc. she will have to enter the SSA1099 with her other income on a tax return of her own. But while it is the only income for her, it does not have to go on a tax return.
