Time-saving Tip: If what you entered is correct and you continue to get a reject, you won't be able to e-file. There's probably a data mismatch at the government, or some other situation beyond your control that prevents your return from being e-filed. In this case, your only option would be to print and mail in your return.

This happed last year as well forcing a paper return. After checking the IRS website and verifying our joint 2022 return AGI $171,464.00, I entered this for the TurboTax verification of ID. Initial Return Rejected, TurboTax Reason Spouse AGI wasn't recognized. My AGI matched, thus return rejected. Looked at my PDF 2022 saved copy and AGI was different, Trie resubmitting with that AGI, again rejected, reason spouse AGI not recognized. Online search suggested entering $0 for Spouse, 3rd time rejected. This is not acceptable. I agreed to, and paid for Turbo Tax assistance. Do you have a solution or am I forever destined to filing paper returns?
For some reason the IRS has a different AGI in its database and yours in not matching. You can get around this by telling TurboTax that you did not file taxes last year. Then the AGI question will be bypassed, and you can continue to file. The AGI question is a TurboTax question, and the IRS never sees it and does not care that you did not report it.
