My 2019 AGI was rejected by the IRS yet when I checked the number $39504.00 was correct. I re-entered the number.

The IRS rejected my return and said that my 2019 AGI was incorrect. Checked and it was correct. I reentered the number, $39504.00 and refiled.

Do not enter it that way with decimal and cents.   Just enter the whole dollar digits without a $.

TurboTax normally rounds your 2019 AGI for you when you prepared the 2019 return.  But if you did the rounding, when rounding your AGI to the nearest dollar—be sure to round up when it’s 50 cents or more and down when it’s 49 cents or less.

If it was wrong the first time, it will likely reject again, unless you made a typo when entering it the first time and didn't mistype the second time.   So if it rejects again, here are some additional things to consider:

For your 2019 return, I'll assume that you didn't file a married joint return, since you didn't mention so.   If the 2019 return were a joint return, however, then for 2020 each spouse enters the same total 2019 AGI.

Be sure you use the 2019 AGI from your original 2019 return, not an amended one (if applicable).  However, see the 2 situations below about how/when you filed.

Importantly, how and when did you file the 2019 return?  If you filed real late in the year, such as mid-November 2020 or later, you would use an AGI of 0 (zero).

Or if you filed the 2019 return on paper (printed and mailed), but due to the Pandemic the IRS didn't finish processing it until mid-November or later, you can try to efile with an AGI of 0 (zero.)

If you qualify to set up an IRS account, or if you already have one, you can download a 2019 return transcript and see what the IRS is showing for your 2019 AGI.

Thank you so much!  This worked!

We filed paper (Married Filing Joint) 2019 in March, and the IRS still hasn't processed.  Entering 0 for both of us.  We had a response back from TT within minutes that the IRS had accepted our 2020 return.

Thanks again,
