I already filed one for 2018 and 2019 taxes.. But they still took my stimulus. Do I need to file another separate for the stimulus?
No you do not ... the notice is telling you if you had NOT yet filed one you should ... the IRS site specifically says to NOT file another one.
Have you found any info on if the injured spouse would get their portion or not?
On mine and my husbands it states only 1200 went to child support so that would mean I still have mine out there...I think
Oh okay, not us all went to back pay. Mine and his and our kids :(
@Nmatthew001 @Critter @21Lilah @Scaldy @Deelishus I have not found anything on IRS regarding the stimulus and injured spouse form. I did just finish a chat with Yvonne who works for IRS, I questioned her regarding individuals who filed injured spouse forms and how & when will TOP reverse the money? She did say that once they're done processing the stimulus payments they will then process the injured spouse forms. She stated she has worked for IRS for 21 years and she is certain that we will receive our stimulus payment if the injured spouse form was filed. She could not give a timeline so I think it will be months before we see that money.
Who did you talk to if there is no one to talk to through irs.
In my mail today :
Income Verification Express Service (IVES) Participants,
We wanted to provide you with an update regarding the current state of our operations. Starting April 27, 2020, we plan to have limited staffing in our service centers to begin processing previously submitted requests. We will not be accepting any new work until we significantly reduce existing inventory. A subsequent update will be provided when new work will be accepted. Due to limited staffing, processing time will be delayed.
Thanks for your patience and please stay safe.
IRS IVES Team
When I called I called the treasury department number on letter I got. They told me that it would take 8 to 10 weeks for us to get it
I called on my letter as welled and it was just the treasury they said I couldn't talk to irs but good for you
@21Lilah yes same here. I was only able to talk to treasury dept. She told me the stimulus was taken for child support and she could not help me any further. The irs isnt accepting calls.
My husband just received a letter today in the mail from the IRS stating that he will receive a stimulus check. What a joke.... I didn't get a letter but they took the entire check to pay for his back child support....
It did list a IRS number to call 800-919-9835 but it was just a recording not a live person to speak to. SMH to the comment that was in the letter "We are fully committed to ensuring that you and your family have the support you need to get through this time"
They answer where to order forms but nothing else no questions answered or anything so any info given I dont know who that was from
Does he still owe back pay? So they kept the taxes but you all will receive the stimulus? My letter was address to me an my husband but says 1200 was taken for child support but no support words at all..At least yours was a little nicer for taking what you had
Did you receive the 2 letter saying you wasn't getting the stimulus and then receive 2 more letters from Department of Treasury telling you they was depositing your stimulus? Did you gat those 4 letters and then get the letter stating he was getting his check?
