IHSS Exempt and Stimulus ?

Hi,

   I an IHSS full-Time Care Giver for my father and was told when I started by the orientation person to fill out my tax form as Exempt since I live with my father and should not need to file taxes .(is that true?). Second since I do not file taxes if I file the non filer form will I charged taxes on my IHSS income ? Sorry if this sounds dumb but I’ve been taking care of my dad for 10 years but just started getting Ihss so I’ve never gotten paid to do it and had no income to report .

IHSS payments are non-taxable and non-reportable income if you live with the person who needs the assistance you are providing.

If you file the non filer form, the IRS won't tax you on your IHSS income.
