If, I can't eFile my fed return, but I filled in my payment info for my taxes. Will that still be sent to the gov't electronically, or do I need to mail checks instead?

We had to file amended federal and state returns, changing our filling status from married separate to married jointly. The federal return would not eFile with that change. But I had already entered the information to pay the taxes due.

Whatever account information you entered on your amended return will not be processed since you did not e-file it and the IRS did not receive the information. However, the IRS will still process what you filed with your original return.

You can send a check or money order with your amended return or you can pay online. See Can I pay my IRS taxes with a credit or debit card?
