If you paid 2024 state quarterly payments and did not include them on your 2024 return the state will recognize that and adjust your tax liability. Wait to hear from them.
Sometimes, the State will correct your return (because they have records of your payments) and automatically refund them to you.
If not, you should amend your state return.
You enter your state estimated tax payments in the Federal section and they will flow through to your state return.
In TurboTax Online, you can enter the state estimated taxes you paid by following these steps:
Thank you for answering my question.
How do I know that my 2024 State Income Tax was amended? I did it 2 weeks ago but I never get a RECEIVED notification or CONFIRMATION notification. Was I suppose to send it in the mail?
Thank you!
Check with your state to make sure they received your tax return and it was processed before amending it. You can use this article to track your state refund to make sure your return has processed by clicking on your state. How do I track my state refund?
I would wait until it is fully processed in case your state makes an adjustment to your tax return. Once it is fully processed, if your state did not make corrections to it to reflect your estimated payments then you can amend your state tax return.
You can try calling your state's Department of Revenue for more information: How do I contact my state Department of Revenue?
To Amend your Tax Return in TurboTax (Form 1040-X):

If you are amending your 2024 tax return and you filed your original 2024 tax return in TurboTax you will be able to e-file your amended return. There are some circumstances where you will be unable to e-file your amended 2024 return and you will have to mail it in. TurboTax will tell you if it has to be mailed.

Thank you for answering my question. I do have another question. Since I forgot to include my estimated state quarterly payments to my tax return, the amount that was owed has already been withdrawn from my checking account. How long do I wait to see if my State catches my error and refunds me before I file an amendment?
You could call your State Dept of Revenue and ask them.
