I'm trying to request an extension. I don't have all my W2 forms. I'm also filing single. My spouse is deceased as of 3-28-2018

If you normally owe Federal taxes, you need to estimate how much you think you will owe to reduce penalties and interest charged until the taxes are paid.  If you send more tax money that will be owed when you finally complete your taxes you will get that back as a refund.

1. Click the "Get an Extension" button.

2. If you have started your return already, select and proceed, otherwise, Extend a New Return.

Your spouse's death in 2018, no longer allows you to file as qualifying widow, so filing single seems to be the correct filing status.

best of luck
