No, TurboTax won't notify you when MD will finalize their forms. You can find the status of the MD tax forms on the TurboTax FAQ State forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products.

I'm not sure what you mean by "a segment of Form 8582 is displayed". Per the TurboTax FAQ IRS forms availability table for TurboTax individual (personal) tax products, Form 8582 is available.

Hi Helen C12-

I went back into my turbo tax account a few minutes ago and this Form 8582 reads "Passive Loss Limitations" which should not even pertain to me in my opinion.  So not sure why its holding up me e-filing my state return when my Federal return was accepted.   My Federal return was accepted by the IRS on 1/28, and my Maryland form is waiting.  I did read on one of the screens that said check back at the end of the month (which is today).  I guess I will be patience and check back tomorrow 2/1/22.  Very interesting as I do want to e-file my state return as I have a refund due. Did I file too early?

No, you didn't file your federal return too early as long as you entered all your 2021 tax information. You'll have to wait and see if the Form 8582 issue is resolved once the Maryland income tax forms are available.

@powerc02 I've just seen this TurboTax article that I believe addresses the issue you're finding.  It is being investigated.

Why is TurboTax generating form 8582 when I have no passive activity loss in the state of Maryland?

Form 8582 is available online from IRS.  If IRS is changing this form?  Why is it available online on the IRS web site.

@sevenofnine If the IRS makes changes to forms, it takes a little while for TurboTax to make the changes in their program(s) and assimilate the changes properly.
