TT rejected my eFile because the TT generated Form 8283 was not signed, which was planned to be US Mail to IRS like the past years. Now, can I replace this bad form with a valid signed form by the Donee?

Turbotax has no provision to attach an external PDF.
the signed 8283 must be submitted by mail with form 8453
Turbotax will generate the 8453 once the 8283 info is completed. according to Turbotax you should be able to e -file with a dummy 8283 that will be included in the e-file
contact support for how to e-file in your situation if you have continuing issues.
When and Where To File form 8453
If you are filing your tax return using an online provider, mail Form 8453 to the IRS within 3 business days after you have received acknowledgement from your intermediate service provider (ISP) and/or transmitter that the IRS has accepted your electronically filed tax return. If you don’t receive an acknowledgement, you must contact your intermediate service provider and/or transmitter.
Mail Form 8453 to:
Internal Revenue Service Attn: Shipping and Receiving, 0254 Receipt and Control Branch Austin, TX 73344-0254

Turbotax does not allow addition or substitution of forms or PDF files. Some other tax programs do allow attachment of PDFs, but I don't think that will fix your problem, since the PDF attachment to the XML data file is not going to be part of the e-file validation.
What's supposed to happen is you e-file your return with the electronic form 8283, and Turbotax prints out a transmittal form 8453, that you mail to the IRS with the original copy of the 8283 signed in ink. I don't know of a change that would cause the IRS to reject a return without a PDF attachment. You may want to call customer service and see if you can get an application specialist to review this.
TT will detect the Unsigned 8283 form and simply reject the efile.
Had talked to TT staff who suggested Print and Mail is the Only solution.
External PDFs cannot be attached to an efile. in addition, the IRS wants an original of a signed 8283 appraisal.
you should be able to e-file your return and then use form 8453 to submit the 8283 and appraisal by mail to the iRS. use a tracking service and read Tubotax filing instructions for the 8453/8283

That seems to be a change in programming then (intentional or a bug). The IRS allows it, at least for 2023. Sorry about the inconvenience.
I am getting the same rejection message. Did anyone figure out a different way to resubmit the e-file and have it accepted? My wife had the same deductions a couple of months ago on hers because we file separately and hers was accepted, but mine has not been. Any help?
there is no way to attach an externally prepare PDF 8283 or any other form to your return for efiling purposes.
if you don't need to submit an appraisal, you'll need to create the 8283 through Turbotax
if you need to submit an appraisal what you can do is use form 8453 to mail in the official 8283 with appraisal while including a dummy 8283 in the e-filed return. it will still need to be created through Turbotax
I entered the wrong amount on my donations form causing a delay in my filing
Form 8283 is scheduled to be released and available tomorrow, February 5th.
I'm trying to submit my error-free TurboTax form but I'm still being told I cannot do so because of the 8283 needing a Donee signature. I don't have/need an appraisal -- it was a donation of securities to DAF Giving (Schwab) that exceeded $5K. Reading through all the posts, I am still not sure if there is a way around having to print/mail in my forms?
Any help/advice would be appreciated! Schwab folks seem to think this is a TT issue? Thanks!
If your total noncash donations are $5,000 or more for a single item or group of similar items, you can't e-file your tax return, which includes Form 8283.
Starting in tax year 2024, the IRS has indicated that if Form 8283 has a noncash donation where the donee name is listed and the appraised value is $5,000 or more for an item or group of similar items, then the return must be mailed in with an acknowledgment from the donee. Follow the steps here to print and file your tax return.
You can mail just the Form 8283 to the IRS with Form 8453 transmittal if it's over $500/ less than $5,000.
Please see this help article and the IRS Instructions for Form 8283.
There's no indication of any such change in IRS policy in any of the published instructions. The updated 2024 Form 8283 instructions do have an extremely clear allowance for e-Filing this form when a signature is required:
"If you are electronically filing your tax return, you must include the Form 8283 data in the electronic submission. Enter all information requested by a line of the Form 8283 on the electronic Form 8283, except for the required signatures.
You must attach the completed Form 8283 with all the required signatures to your tax return, either as a PDF attachment when electronically filed, or mailed to the IRS with Form 8453."
The 8453 route is exactly what I used the last time I needed to send in a signed version of this form. And even assuming Intuit can't be bothered to implement the functionality to attach a PDF (which is clearly allowed per the instructions), the allowance for mailing just the signed form and e-Filing the rest has still not changed.
It's too much of a pain to redo my taxes in something else, but if TurboTax is going to be this poor at its core functionality, I'll go elsewhere for next year.
