How do my spouse and I file jointly 2024 when one lived the full year in the territory (USVI) and the other lived 1/2 a year in the mainland.

I am filing my taxes jointly or intend too but need advice on how or where I should file 2024 income taxes when we lived apart last year. Initially, we both lived in the US Virgin Islands and decided to relocate to the mainland. My spouse moved up in July. I stayed behind to finish work and projects.  Can I file Federally for both of us? Or do we file locally in the USVI? Most convenient method is filling federally here in the mainland where we both NOW reside with our kids.
