Form 8938

Invested in foreign partnership in 2018.  How do I activate the form?

Form 8938

Enter 8938 in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen.  Click on the Magnifying Glass.  Click on Jump to 8938

If you are using the Desktop software:

  1. Switch to the Forms mode in the upper right hand corner of the form. 
  2. On the left hand side select the Open Form Icon.
  3. In the search bar enter 8938
  4. Select the From 8938 in the drop down menu.

i have 2 foreign bank account how can i add the second one on form 8938

Follow these steps. When you are going through thee 8938, you clearly went through the First Foreign Financial Account section.

 

  1. Start by getting back to your first foreign account you can jump to 8938 in the search box):
  2. Next, is Do You Have any Other Foreign Financial Assets to Report.
  3. Select yes or no and continue through that section.
  4. Screen asks Additional Foreign Financial Accounts or Other Financial Assets
  5. Select YES
  6. Screen Foreign Financial Account o Other Financial Asset
  7. Select I need to enter a Foreign Financial Account
  8. Continue
  9. Fill in your second account
