I received an email from support @ turbotax.com (I inserted the spaces) that said "Your
tax forms are ready.
The wait is over!
The tax forms we needed to finish up your taxes are ready."
But after running the update no forms were downloaded.
Also, I see that on web page https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_il_windows_individual.html
It says they will not be ready until 1/27/2022
Which is correct?
If the email is wrong then I think someone should inform support that they may have sent out the email to early.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Some forms are showing as available and ready to e-file while others are not.
However, almost all of the printed forms are showing as not available until 1/27/2022.
As a result, you should go by what is displayed in the program itself as the email may have been sent prematurely with respect to the availability of all of the forms.
And....there is not a hurry to file. The IRS will not begin to accept e-files until January 24. A state return cannot be accepted until AFTER the IRS has accepted the federal return.
I saw that the Printed are showing 1/27/2022 and that some E-file are available now.
But when I am in the TT program and I go to Print it says"Your Illinois return(s)
is currently unavailable ...Forms haven't been finalized yet."
No Illinois forms show up in TT software even though some should (maybe).
This discrepancy should be noted to Support.
(Just an FYI advance problem that may or may not get fixed later)
If I remember correctly TT had a printing problem for the Illinois returns in 2019. Just
getting ahead of any future problems.
I am in no hurry but I was just doing a guesstimate of my 2021 taxes.
I have to wait for all 1099's any how.

Which version of the software are you using? I have Home & Business installed with Illinois state and I can see the relevant forms in Forms Mode.
Some of the Illinois forms are showing as "Do Not File" in my test return.
My mistake not to include version.
Premier
Edit: added
If I go to File - Preview I see the IL 1040 with the Do Not File.
But if you do File - Print there are no forms (you can also Preview in PDF before you print to PDF or
Printer.
Windows 10Pro
Same here with the same version numbers but the Home & Business edition.
Thanks for confirming.
Strange one part shows the form and another does not.
To me it's a bug.
May get corrected in an upcoming update.
Should still be forwarded to Support (Programmers).
Illinois forms are available on the Illinois Website as of today (1/25) but still unavailable in Turbo Tax. Hoping this is solved soon! It still says DO NOT FILE. I also remember this happening a few years ago and it was never updated!
Available on the IL site is not the same as being finalized for use in tax preparation software. Your forms might not yet be ready.
Thank you! Hopefully that is true. It wasn’t a few years ago.
