Does paying child support for a child whom lives 100% with me change what/how I will file? Is so, what should I expect? Thank you!

Hello T33 oe,
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately child support is not deductible on your taxes.
If you are supporting the child 100% and lives with you, you may be able to claim the child as a dependent and claim Head of Household status. This will be dependent on the agreement with the child's other parent, divorce decree and any other court issued rulings.
Hope that answers your question.
Thank you!
