Amend the tax Return and record the already paid taxes

I am amending 2021 tax return and it shows that I owe money to IRS but I have already paid it last year (2022). How can I tell TurboTax that I have done the payment of taxes I owe when filing the amendment.

Amendment didn't result in any extra money I should pay to IRA or get.

You might have to go into Forms mode and add it to line 16.

Line 18 should be your original refund amount and line 22 should be your additional refund.  If you paid on your original return it will be on line 16.  If there is an amount owed with the amendment, it will be on line 20.

If you have a tax due, do not send the 1040V.  Just include a check with the 1040X.  Ignore the 1040V.  That is for the original return or what the original return would have been if it didn’t need correcting.  Don’t pay the amount on the 1040V.  Pay the amount on the actual 1040X.

I went to Amend Return section of TurboTax and it did some magic and now shows my due return as zero. Verified that line 16 as the paid return.
