2019 Refund Carry Over

Where do I request to carryover my 2019 refund at both federal and State?

To elect to carry your federal 2019 refund to 2020 follow these steps:

1. Login to TurboTax.com.
2. Click on Other Tax Situations (this can either be in the center of the screen, or across the top.)
3. Under Additional Tax Payments Click Show More.
4. Click Start (or Revisit) beside Apply Refund to Next Year.

Each state program can be a little different but most will have an indicator similar to "Apply overpayment to 2020 taxes.

I will keep an eye on this post this afternoon - if you let me know which state you file in, I'll gladly give you more specific instructions to make it easier for you to find!

Looking to file returns today (02/27/20). Will only carryover the Federal Credit.

For Kansas, you will find the option here:

In the Kansas portion of the return (click on State in the menu on the left), continue to the screen "A few things before we wrap up your state taxes" and click Start (or Revisit) beside Overpayment Options under Other Situations.   A screenshot of what this looks like is below for reference.
