TurboTax tells me that I need to complete Form 1116. I am trying to do that via the TurboTax menu. When I get to the "Report Foreign Tax Paid" screen, TurboTax asks me to select the 1099-DIV payer. There is a list of 1099-DIV payers to choose from, but my payer does not appear in the list. This is despite the fact that I already entered the 1099-DIV detail for the payer back in the Wages & Income section, including the "Foreign Tax Withheld" amount.
How do I get my payer to appear on screen?
FYI, I get the screen via this sequence of clicks: Deductions & Credits > Foreign Taxes > Continue > Continue > Take A Credit > Continue > Enter country (I enter one country), then click Continue > Select country (I select the country), then click Report Income.
Also FYI, I am using downloaded version of TurboTax Premier on a Mac.
Thx.

In Forms Mode, bring the 1099-DIV up on the screen. Make sure the foreign tax paid appears in box 7. It might be mistakenly in the wrong box.
When you select the country from the list displayed and then click Report Income, the next screen should display the Forms 10999-DIV entered, with a check box to select which ones apply to that country.
The subsequent screen has a box in which you will enter the amount from the 1099-DIV you selected that represents income from the country you selected.
If you didn't see a list of 1099-DIV displayed in the previous step, then look at the 1099-DIV in Forms mode as rogge1722 suggested to determine whether the foreign tax was entered correctly.
See this TurboTax article for more information on this topic.
Thank you both!
