Questions related to - Was all that time in the U.S.?

We are filing a joint return for 2022. We have one dependent daughter turned 10 in 2023. I work in US on H1.

All three of us travelled to India in 2022 for three months. There is a question in the dependent section that Was all that time in the U.S.? I have mentioned as 9 months and system calculated a credit of $500 only.

Is this correct calculation? I was not working in India and only on vacation. Do we have any IRS ruling that provides any justification on the duration of the vacation? Can i mention 12 months in Was all that time in the U.S. to get full $2000 credit. I had valid visa status in this duration and faced no issues in entering in the US. Please confirm.

If you were only on vacation in India and your Permanent Residence is located in the US, then answer Yes, all that time was in the US.
