Questions about form 8332 and 8453

My mother is claiming my children because we all lived together while I am in college so my mom is the one who supported us last year. I did the 8332 form on here but it says I need to print off and send the forms 8332 and 8453 still? So will this hold up her refund until the IRS receives it? Last time it took until June for the IRS to look at and add the paperwork we sent.

Questions about form 8332 and 8453

A 8332 for is ONLY for the custodial parent that lived with the child to release the child's exemption to the noncustodial parent that did not live with the child.

The 8332 does not apply to grandparents.  It is only for divorced or separated parents that did not live together.

Your mother can claim the child if the child lived with her more than half of 2016 and meets the other requirements - no 8332 form is necessary.

Only one taxpayer can claim the child and all the benefits.

If you both live with the child you can agree who claims.  If you cannot agree then the parent prevails over a grand parent.  The agreement is the only permission needed.
