Question is how to get forms mode

The online versions of TurboTax do not support Forms Mode.

If you are using a desktop version, click the Form icon in the upper right side of the screen.

Question is how to get forms mode

online doesn't have forms mode. any DIRECT ENTRY in a form or schedule voids Turbotax accuracy guarantee, may result in incorrect calculations and should prevent e-filing. IN ONLINE STEP-BY-STEP ENTRIES GO INTO WORKSHEETS. THEN TURBOTAX CARRIES THE ANSWER OR AMOUNT TO CALCULATION WORKSHEETS, IF NEEDED, AND FROM THERE THE RESULTS TO THE ACTUAL TAX FORMS AND SCHEDULES.

For forms mode in the desktop versions go to the view tab and select forms then type in what you're looking for. a direct entry in a form or schedule in the desktop versions does not void the accuracy guarantee or prevent e-filing. HOWEVER, SINCE THE TAX FORMS ARE NOW ACCESSIBLE YOU CAN OVERRIDE A CALCULATION BUT THAT ALSO VOIDS THE ACCURACY GUARANTEE AND SHOULD PREVENT E-FILING.

Question is how to get forms mode

Each year you continue to disable functions within the on-line version of TT. I'm inclined to just get the cd version...freezes the cost of tax preparation and I have control of how I can navigate with TT. This direction makes absolutely no sense!

Question is how to get forms mode

TurboTax Online has never had a FORMS mode.  However, you can view your return by going to Tax Tools > Tools in the left-side menu, then View Tax Summary from the pop-up menu.

Then, back at the left-side menu, choose Preview My 1040.

Question is how to get forms mode

Hmmmm, been with TT for over 25 years. Have you been with them that long to say TT never had forms? Over the last 3 decades, I've used both CD-based and on-line. Not sure which version provided forms "VIEW" but when I prepared my taxes with one of these versions, I could see the forms (completed and not completed) on the right side of the TT app when completing my taxes. Food for thought? Be careful with the use of the word "never" with the old timers with TT:>)

Question is how to get forms mode

just learned that Intuit doesn't provide forms view with on-line version of TT.  I'm caught between a rock and hard spot with TT. I like the forms access but its only with desktop CD versions of TT. However, I like the on-line access to experts etc with the on-line version. Also, I don't like knowing how much I'll have to pay for the on-line completed taxes until they are completed. I think they should provide forms in both versions. Thx.

In the Online version you don’t have to pay the fees until you file or want to print.   They can’t let you see the forms or people could copy them to file without paying.

You can see your fees anytime.  How to review your fees

And generally the Desktop CD/Download program should cost less than the Online version.   You might have to upgrade the Online version to enter something.   And state is an extra charge.  Whereas in the Desktop program you can use a lower version.  All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions. And Desktop has more features like the Forms mode, and has a What-If worksheet.  This year you can add live expert help in the Desktop program for $60.   Oh and you can do unlimited returns and efile 5.  So you can make copies of your return to test in.   Surely you must have noticed the major differences if you used both the Online version and the Desktop CD/Download program.
